People in Zürich have the tendency to not be too religious anymore. Nevertheless, the protestant work ethic is deeply embedded in the deduction of how the city works and looks like today. The lower part of the Wydäckerring was developed as employee housing for the Triemli Hospital: one room apartments. Work, rest, work. This protestant ethics is legible in the floorplan. But a space to knit the community together – which was always Huldrych Zwinglis main concern – is missing here. We introduce a room for the community. Placed in between the units, in front of everyone, accessible to everyone.
